Philippines Mission Day 2009

Sunday, August 16, 2009

It was certainly a blessing to have Bishop Carlito Villanueva and his wife Estela with us from Calvary Temple Church headquartered in Angeles City, Pampanga, Philippines. Bishop Villanueva and his wife have been greatly used by God in sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ around the world. In fact, the mother church has planted nearly 50 churches and cell groups throughout the world. Bishop Villanueva brought us greetings as the service began which included approx 50+ Filipino professionals and their families as well as the NBCC Family. In addition, we were blessed to also have Rev. Joseph Benigno with us. He shared about what is happening in the Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church half way around the world in the Philippines and brought the message. We were very excited by his message, video and pictures that he shared with us.

Pastor Ray and Rev. Benigno

One project that was on the forefront was that of the Christian Children's School in Lidlidda and Ramon, Philippines. New Beginnings continues with this work as one of our missions focus areas. The schools have made further progress since last year and are now at a higher accreditation level with the Department of Education in the Philippines. Again, New Beginnings rose to the challenge raising nearly $1500 for this worthy cause.

Pastor Ray will visit the work when he visits the Philippines again along with Rev. Benigno. Thanks to everyone who helped in this special project. Look for updates on the building project in the next edition of Mission: Northern Philippines later this year.

Rev. Benigno serves as the National Liason Officer to the PFWBC-USA and as President of Harvesters Bible Academy.
